Cadbury Melts

Cadbury’s range of Melts is perfect for melting down to make sauces, ganache, frostings but work equally well as inclusions in cakes, muffins and biscuits.

They are all made with real chocolate, containing a minimum of 20% cocoa butter, which ensures you get that smooth texture, high glossy appearance and richness in flavour.

Recipe for Hazelnut Berry Muffins with White Chocolate Frosting The cocoa that was sold in the 1800’s was rather different to what we enjoy now. Poor refining of the cocoa bean meant that over 50% of the cocoa butter naturally found in cocoa beans, remained in the actual cocoa powder. Like most manufacturers, John Cadbury’s cocoa contained various other ingredients like potato flour, sago and treacle which were used to mask the fatty taste. The turning point for the Cadbury business was a new processing technique and the resulting product: Cadbury Cocoa Essence, which contained much less cocoa butter and more importantly no additives.
