Recipe for Chocolate and Almond Biscotti In 1879 George Cadbury (son of John Cadbury) founded a new site for the company in Bournville, four miles south of Birmingham. There, together with his brother Richard, they built a village where good quality low-cost housing was made available for their industrial workers. He said: ‘If each man could have his own house, a large garden to cultivate and healthy surroundings, then, there will be for them a better opportunity of a happy family life’. In 1901, George Cadbury gave the Bournville village site to the Bournville Village Trust.
