Baking Chocolate Block

Cadbury’s range of Baking Chocolate blocks are all made using real cocoa butter, ensuring you get rich chocolately flavour, velvety smooth texture and a high gloss finish to all your desserts.

White chocolate block is also made with cocoa butter but substitutes cocoa mass for milk powder.

Cadbury’s Dark Baking Chocolate is characterized by a bitter sweet or semi-sweet flavour due to its high % of cocoa solids.

Cadbury’s Milk Baking Chocolate is sweeter to taste and has a smoother and creamier texture than Dark chocolate because some of the cocoa solids have been replaced by milk solids.

Cocoa Meter

Each solid cocoa bean represents at least 20% cocoa solids. The more solid cocoa beans, the more bitter the taste.

Recipe for Marbled Brownies In 1866 John Cadbury’s sons George and Richard, bought a newly invented machine from Holland, a hand-operated hydraulic press that reduced the fat content of cocoa by half. They were the first to use such a press in the UK and they started to make Cadbury Cocoa Essence, the forerunner of what we know today as CADBURY BOURNVILLE Cocoa powder. It became popular despite being expensive, because it no longer contained cheap fillers like sago and potato flour. The Cadbury brothers advertised it as ‘Absolutely pure, therefore best’.
